Prakash, an alumnus of Metallurgy Dept, REC, Srinagar, Batch of ‘88 always dreamt of running a production facility. He started his career with Minex Metallurgical Limited , running their southern operations from the Chennai office. An out and out people’s person, both marketing and management came naturally to him. The first two decades were spent in the foundry industry. His mentor, inspiration and guru was Minex founder, Mr. S. B. Misra.
The thirst to do be on his own made him start P & P Metalloys in 1996. A big support came in the form of being the agents of Minex in southern India, which continues to this day. The initial decade was in the field of dealing with Copper and aluminium scrap with supplies to all leading foundries.
His dream of own production facility lead to the factory at Trichy in 2007. Manufacturing ferro alloy powders for the electrode and wearplate industry continues to this day and Prakash believed in being a Partner in Progress for his customers. He was totally immersed in his work of running the company and used to consider every problem of his customers as his own and strived to find a solution.
This lead to investing in good lab facilities , right from day one. Very forgiving, caring and a man of few words, it was difficult not to fall in love with him. A soft -hearted person with empathy for all, he was genial, caring and totally non-judgemental. A good listener, people would open their hearts to him endearing him to customers and competitors alike. His earnestness to help whoever crossed his path in whatever way lead him to find solutions to any problem that his customer would face. A cool guy, his smile and simplicity showed in his life. A man of few wants, his work and P & P were his sole interests with his children Prashanth and Sharadha being the rare exceptions to divert him from work.
His very nature got him a large circle of friends, both professional and friends. The first to always lend a helping hand, he was generous to a fault. He loved to play Badminton and cricket. He loved spending time with children and was a favourite uncle to many. A dutiful son and son in law, the youngest in a large family and a darling of his siblings, an ideal husband and a caring father with no expectations, he was one of a kind, a rare soul , And lucky were those whose lives crossed his.
